Scientific Advisory Board

We have collected a team of prominent industry leaders in their field on our Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Shamal Mehta, CEO

Dr. Mehta is the founder and CEO of eBiochemica Solutions. He started his career as a research scientist, specializing in anti-cancer research. With over 8 years of experience in the biotech/pharma and industry and two successful start-ups later, he decided to go back to India to establish eBiochemica Solutions. He is on the editorial advisory board of 10 peer reviewed journals. He has one issued patent, 35 published patents and 10 papers. He actively consults for the pharma and biotech industry in India. Dr. Mehta obtained his M. Sc. from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Bombay where he was the Institute Silver medalist. He completed his M.Phil from Columbia University with Professor Gilbert Stork and his Ph.D. with Professor Alan Katritzky at the Center of Heterocyclic Compounds.

Dr. Gotam K. Jarori, Professor, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India.

Dr Jarori is currently a Professor of Biology at TIFR. His main research interests are identification and validation of novel drug targets and vaccine candidates for protozoic parasites, comparative proteomics and biosensor design. He has been interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of enzyme catalysis and regulation using a host of spectroscopic techniques (viz. NMR, ESR, UV, Fluorescence etc). He has been a visiting professor at Department of Physics, IUPUI, Indianapolis and at Department of Medicinal chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University.  He continues to be affiliated to Purdue University’s Bindley Bioscience Center at their Discovery Park location. Professor Jarori obtained his Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Clinical Biochemistry from M.S. University Baroda and joined Tata Institute of Fundamental Research where he carried out his doctoral thesis on Brain Hexokinase. He spent about three years at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA as a Fulbright Scholar working on Acetyl receptor from Torpedo.

Dr. Prasenjit Ghosh, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India.

Dr Ghosh is currently Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Mumbai) and his main research interests are the design, synthesis and study of organometallic complexes for their potential usage as homogeneous catalysts for various important chemical transformations.  Of current interest to him are olefin polymerization, ring-opening lactide polymerization and CO2/epoxide polymerization. Professor Ghosh obtained his master’s degree in Chemistry from IIT Kanpur and joined Columbia University where he carried out his Doctoral thesis on metal complexes and their applications as catalysts. He spent about five years at Brookhaven National Labs and UC Santa Barbara as a Post Doctoral student. He has been at IIT Mumbai for five years and has 27 publications and 2 published patents.
